Scurry & Associates is proud to annually sponsor the William A. Scurry Memorial Scholarship, where we will award scholarships to two local students furthering their academic pursuits. These scholarships will be made in honor of the life and legacy of William A. Scurry, who passed on September 2, 2017.

For over 35 years as a premier Realtor ®, William was a mentor to many and a community leader. He focused on supporting his family and community while doing his best to live a life in honor to God. This desire went beyond his professional role of REALTOR® and earned him the nickname “Mayor of University City” for his involvement in the community. He served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Charlotte Regional Realtors Association, Chairman of the Board with the University YMCA, awardee of the YMCA’s “George Williams Award” for branch leadership, a member of the Board of Directors for the local Alzheimer’s Association, and a member of the Board of Directors for the Charlotte Housing Authority.

William’s commitment to leaving an impact on everyone around him, earned him the respect and trust of his family, friends, and clients. Though the legacy he leaves is integral to us all – its most visible impact continues to be made by Scurry and Associates in the Greater Charlotte Real Estate market.

Scurry and Associates and the Scurry family are sponsoring and raising funds for scholarships in his memory. These scholarships will offer assistance to students in the Greater Charlotte community who are socially or economically disadvantaged, and are in need of financial aid to further their education.

We are reaching out to family, network of friends, clients, and colleagues that highly regarded William’s impact on the community. We are asking for your support through a donation to the William A. Scurry Memorial Scholarship. With your assistance, we can extend his impact even more.

Your support is greatly appreciated and will go a long way in helping this worthy cause. In order to raise funds for the 2024 academic year, we ask that all donations be made by June 1^st of each year to support scholarships in the upcoming fall semester.
